Mayan Riviera Mexico

The Mayan Riviera, or the Riviera Maya as the Mexicans refer to it, is an exquisite location for a family vacation, romantic escape or exciting adventure. The Mayan Riviera is a 130 kilometer long stretch of Caribbean coastline, running between the resort city of Cancun, to the north, and down to the Mayan ruins of Tulum at its southern end. The Mayan Riviera, collectively with the entire Yucatan Peninsula, is a world class tropical destination supplying history, escapade and tropical opulence. Visitors have the opportunity to enjoy it all and can take part in a variety of activities, including: golf, Mayan ruin sites, fishing, snorkeling, ecotourism and indulgent adventure tours planned with vacationers in mind to experience Mexico's natural and cultural wonders. Snorkeling and scuba diving are especially popular as the Great Mayan Reef, the largest coral reef in the Western Hemisphere is located right there.
The Mayan Riviera makes for the perfect holiday for families, as many of the all-inclusive resorts welcome families, providing daily kids programs. The Mayan Riviera also offers fun and captivating activities outside the resorts. Along the Mayan Riviera, vacationers have the opportunity to visit the occasional Mexican craft market and the local Mayan cuisine is amazing. Visitors are also able to choose from a variety of international eateries, including: Italian, French, Argentinean and Thai restaurants. It is also important to visit the Mayans' fantastic architectural and cultural achievements which challenge those of the world's other great civilizations.
In addition to the Mayan Riviera, another popular destination is Playa del Carmen. Playa del Carmen is a cosmopolitan town located on the Caribbean Sea about 35 miles south of Cancun in the center of Mexico's Mayan Riviera. Regardless of the location guests choose to visit, a fantastic vacation awaits.
